February Fave: Tour de Palm Springs Charity Cycling Event

Palm Springs is a great town to explore from the seat of a bicycle. The terrain is relatively flat and there’s lots of cool architecture and public art to discover. Borrow one of Descanso’s multi-speed city bikes or bring your own, we’d love to help you map out a route. And if you really love to bike, come see us in February for the desert’s most festive cycling event of the year, the Tour de Palm Springs.

Created to raise money for nonprofit organizations in the Coachella Valley, the celebratory race day atmosphere at Tour de Palm Springs includes thousands of riders and spectators, 20 live bands, lots of street food vendors, and more. Routes start downtown and range from 102 miles right down to 7, taking riders through the scenic streets and the surrounding desert with fun rest stops along the way. If you’re not up for cycling, you can help raise funds by joining in a 1- or 3-mile walk honoring first responders and veterans, or just cheer on the participants from the sidelines. It’s hard not to have a good time!

Coachella Valley’s famous February weather, gorgeous mountain scenery, and thousands of enthusiastic cyclists and spectators make the Tour de Palm Springs an event like no other. Best of all, the CVSPIN-sponsored event has raised over $4,000,000 for Coachella Valley charities since 1999. So if you love to ride or cheer on guys in bike shorts, get yourself to Palm Springs in February for this amazing event.
